The ideal as a person
In analects of Confucius, there is a scene that disciples and Confucius talk about own ideal.
A disciple talked as follows.
"I want not to boast of my good intentions, not to show off my hardships, and I just want to work with all my heart."
Finally, Confucius talked as follows.
“I want to relieve elderly people, I want to trust my friends, and I want to be familiar with young people. My ideal is just it."
The disciple thought about himself.
"The teacher regards only elderly people, friends, and young people. I should do just it."
I think that the greatness of analects of Confucius is not only teachings of Confucius but also understandings of disciples.
